About Us
The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona sets the standard in sleep medicine in Arizona. Physician-owned by Dr. Ruchir P. Patel and staffed by fellowship-trained and board-certified sleep medicine physicians, clinical psychologists, and physician assistants trained in sleep medicine by Dr. Patel with completion of the Certification in Clinical Sleep Health examination. The Insomnia and Sleep Institute began as a comprehensive sleep medicine center —not a testing facility—in 2013 and has always provided the highest level of sleep medicine care.
With unprecedented staffing levels, patients enjoy access to seven sleep specialists, clinical psychologists focused on cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, physician assistants trained in sleep medicine, and teams including respiratory therapists along with sleep technologists and medical assistants guiding them.

Sleep and Health
Getting “good sleep” means more than feeling rested and refreshed the next day. Sleep is an integral part of holistic health and is directly tied to wellness in other facets of our life. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Americans are chronically sleep-deprived with over 33 percent of people in the U.S. not getting enough sleep. Even more are getting disrupted, subpar, and low-quality sleep.
Lack of good sleep has been linked to increased blood pressure, higher rates of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, excess weight, and more. Patients undergoing menopause can experience low-quality sleep due to fluctuating hormones, and poor sleep is also connected to mental and emotional health. Lack of proper sleep has been linked to an increase in depression and anxiety, and interferes with spending quality time with friends and family or performing your best at work. Sleep is a necessity—not a luxury. Learn more about the many sleep disorders treated at The Insomnia and Sleep Institute and how sleep is affecting your health and life.
